School Shootings in U.S. raising concerns about whether any campus is safe.
Already this year, there have been 20 school shootings resulting in 21 deaths and 40 injuries to people in the United States. That comes after a 15 year span where the info reported that there were 162 school shootings that killed 212 people and injured another 283. All of this is raising issues of whether students from elementary school to college should feel safe on their own campuses.

A car that does not work, a low-wage job and a full load of classes are just some of the issues that Janae Mitchell deals with every day. The 20-year-old woman who lives in Frayser with her parents, and finds that her part-time job at the Kroger store at 2269 Lamar Ave. does not cut it. "With having to help pay for rent, and other utilities around the house $7.55 an hour is not going to do me any good with cost of living," Mitchell said.

The history of Orange Mound is unlike any other in Memphis and not recognized by most young teens today. Orange Mound is the second largest community in history behind Harlem in New York City to be discovered by African Americans. The community got its name from a fruit called the mock orange because of shrubs that were planted in the side yard of the owner John George Deadrick Plantation who sold the land to Izey Eugene Meacham for $100.

The referendum for wine in grocery stores will be in affect starting July 2016. giving local businesses time to prepare for the future changes of their revenue. Grocery stores and liquor stores will start selling wine in 2016 benefiting customers while they shop. While many Tennesseans were for this, alot of citizens are still puzzled on why people voted the way that they did.

The residents who live on Williamsburg Lane had their appeal postponed for two weeks by Memphis City Council at its Sept. 15, 2015 meeting in order to resolve a dispute with the neighbors about dividing a property into two lots. Originally the city's Land Use Control Board approved this and gave the owner of the lot the ok on June 11, but the citizens who live on Williamsburg objected to this.
